MARQ RILEY | Wedding Photographer & Filmmaker in Greece

Marq Riley - Wedding Films

Besides photography I also love the magic of documenting stories in films.

Chiara & Simone's destination wedding was unique on so many levels, the colours, emotions, and the fact that it was the first catholic ceremony held at a Greek orthodox church in Mykonos. Stylish, liberating and full of passion, it's exactly what you'd expect an Italian wedding in Mykonos to be.

When Amy & Marko approached me to shoot their destination wedding in Greece, they originally only had photography in mind. It was going to be a small, informal affair with only their closest friends and family, an exchange of vows and rings on a deck overlooking the Aegean Sea. But then they also saw some of my wedding films, and asked if I could shoot both. Normally when I cover a wedding in photo & film I have at least one second shooter with me, but given the intimate nature of their wedding, we sorted out logistics and limitations and I took on the challenge of covering both by myself. It took some strategic planning and positioning of additional cameras (and myself), But all of us were very happy with the results. Because of the amazing people and the incredible view on this beautiful day in mid May, I was inspired from the moment my plane landed at dawn util the small hours of the party, with excellent live music by Marko, his friends and Steve on the Piano. This is the highlights film of their big day on Skiathos Island.

Music: Pete Josef - Seven Days In The Year

I met up with Shoshana and Aaron on Mykonos, discovering the character of island in remote locations and natural settings, but also finding each other in personal moments many miles away from their wedding, a lavish and luxury New York City affair on the not too distant horizon.
